Air Compressor Considerations

A reliable air-compressor is very vital when you have a lot of power tools for your DIY projects. If you are a DIYer and have a collection of power tools for your different tasks like spraying, nailing, hammering, sanding, screwing and other tasks, it is important that the get the power that they need or sufficient compressed air supply to make each tool of service.

The advantage of using air-compressor to power you tools is that your tools will have the ability to hand what would otherwise be a physically grueling task, and if you maintain your power tools that operates on compressed air, then you will have less troubleshooting, less repair, and less parts to replace. The switch is seen from people now relying on pneumatic power tools instead of those handled manually and through electricity, for their metal and woodwork, crafts, and automobiles, etc. And it is not only those that use pneumatic tools to support their business but also people who use them for their own personal hobbies.

Here are some things that you need to consider first before selecting a compression. First is determining what kind of environment will you be using it for. This will help you decide whether you need a stationary type of air compressor or a portable type. The large and heavy stationary air compressors are designed to stay in one place but their capacities are heavier. This type of compressor has a greater output capacity since its cube feet per minute rating in compressing air is much faster. This type of air compressor also has a heavier and a more powerful electric motor and a bigger tank so it is better placed in a stationary location. If you need an air compressor that can be brought along, then you need the portable type. It is portable not in the sense that some portable air-compressors are also big enough, but portable in a sense that it can easily be transported – they usually have rollers on. A portable air compressor can be brought where you might need compressed air, whatever that pursuit is. You can bring it to your house when you need it there or in your garage and etc.

The next thing that you will need to consider beforehand is to determine the amount of air or power will you require your machine to run your operations. You can calculate this by the number of tools you will use simultaneously, or which pneumatic tools are most applicable to your working needs. Meaning, it is crucial to know the stats and features that pertain to how a given compressor will perform including the size of the tank.

Consider also that a pump is used to harness natural air and compress it within tank. There is the single and the two-stage. The CFM requirements in your line of work would determine your choice of the two pumps.
